About
Center for Photography in Ethiopia is a platform for emerging Ethiopian photographers. CPE has delivered programs, exhibitions, installations, and presentations in and outside of Ethiopia.
Six artists with different lens-based practices gathered. They used their practice as a way to reflect on their relationship with Addis Ababa.
Oscillation is an exploration of their personal and collective link to Addis Ababa.
The choice of colors reflects the city’s past, present, and future. The tension between deep blue and deep red creates a sense of oscillation.
The poster is an homage to Addis Ababa’s emerging urban, historical, and philosophical poly-centric nature. When used as a book cover, it reveals Addis’ evolution. The same design and writing voice introduced the artists on social media.
The result is a lean design system of physical and digital ephemera.
